About me
As a Hudson Valley native now based in New York City, I know both the quiet of upstate life and the pace of the city. I earned my Master of Science in Music Therapy from the State University of New York at New Paltz, and spent my early career working with older adults and people with traumatic brain injuries. I went on to complete my postgraduate certificate in Mental Health Counseling at the State University of New York at Buffalo.
Before becoming a therapist, I trained as a musician and music therapist and hold a License in Creative Arts Therapy in addition to my License in Mental Health Counseling. That background continues to shape how I show up — with presence, attention, and an ability to sit with nuance and emotion and listen to what’s beneath the words.
Before private practice, I spent years working in community mental health and domestic violence settings, which taught me a lot about resilience, safety, and how context matters when it comes to healing. I don’t view mental health struggles as defects or moral failures, but as the result of difficult conditions — and of living in a society that normalizes isolation, overwork, conformity, and avoidance.
What I believe:
I don't see therapy as a place to "fix" what's wrong. I see it as a place to become more aware of yourself — your emotions, beliefs, relationships, and the ways your past continues to shape your present. I believe you are the expert on your own life. I'm here to help you connect with yourself and your values, and to live with more authenticity.
